President
John Stevens Hello everyone, my name is John Stevens, your CNSA President. I was born and raised here in Fresno, and was enrolled into Fresno State in fall 2019. I am in my 4th semester of the nursing program and aim to graduate in spring 2024. I am very excited for my journey coming to an end as I try to become a bedside nurse. During my downtime, I like to listen to Hip-hop/R&B music and enjoy the outdoors when I can. As a nurse, I aim to care for those in need and provide a helping hand. This mindset will be the same as president, and I look forward to being involved with the community here at Fresno State. |
Vice President
Jake Esquivel Kamusta! Some activities I love to do for fun outside of nursing would be hanging out with friend IRL or through video games we play, trying out new food places, traveling outside of town and country, working out at the gym or playing volleyball, and relaxing! My hope for this year is to travel with some of my closest friends to either Europe (specifically Switzerland) or Asia (Japan or Korea), where one trip will be in the summer and the other will be in the winter. Another little fun fact about me is that I try to learn new languages on my own time, where I would eventually like to be semi-fluent in Japanese and possibly French or Italian! After graduation, my plan is to work in ICU, specifically either cardiovascular ICU or a pediatric ICU. Eventually, I would also like to go to either NP (Nurse Practitioner) or CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) school, and also attain a DNP (Doctorate's in Nursing Practice) in order to possibly teach when I become an older age as well. Regardless of these mini facts, I also love to help people out to the best of my ability or knowledge, so please feel free to ask me for any help, whether be it academic or life-related things! |
Secretary
Lea Hernandez Hi everyone, my name is Lea (lay-uh), and I am excited to serve as your Secretary for CNSA this year. I decided to go into Nursing because through my family’s experiences with the healthcare system, I understand just how much of an impact a compassionate nurse can make on patients and their families. I also love that nursing is a career of lifelong learning, where I will always have something new to learn or improve upon. As a third semester student now, I look forward to exploring other nursing specialities. In my free time, I love hanging out with friends, reading, and watching any good movies or TV shows. |
Treasurer
Lucy Sip Hi! My name is Lucy, and I am currently a 4th semester student serving as your CNSA Treasurer! I decided to go into nursing for a few reasons. The death of my father inspired me to go into health care. My mom was the one who inspired me to go into nursing. Growing up, my mom worked as a home care provider, and seeing what she does for the elderly sparked my interest in becoming a nurse. I would tag along with her to doctor appointments, help translate for her and the elders, and help her care for the elders. Once I was old enough to work, I became a healthcare provider myself, and it felt so rewarding to be able to help those with what they cannot do on a day-to-day basis anymore. Going into nursing, I did not know there were so many different specialties we could go into. I am currently an extern on the L&D floor at CCMC, and I am loving it! After graduation, I hope to work on the L&D floor. In the future, I would also like to return to school to get my master’s in nursing. Outside of school, I enjoy going to the gym, going on walks, hanging out with friends, and trying new foods! I also love trying new drinks whether that be tea, coffee, boba, protein shakes, or probiotic sodas. You can always catch me with at least 3 different drinks on me! If you ever see me around school, do not hesitate to say hi or ask me any questions you may have! |
Legislative Director
Kaitlin Yang Hello future nurses! My name is Kaitlin Yang, I’m a second-semester nursing student with a minor in Gerontology. I am very excited to be your Legislative Director for this term. I participated in many CNSA events during my first semester in the program, which inspired me to serve on the Board of Directors. When I graduate, I hope to eventually become a CRNA. This is because I love the idea of being able to legally put people to sleep :) But honestly, I value the independence and love the role that CRNAs bring to the medical field. Some little things about me are that I love to watch Ghibli Studio movies, love yogurt-flavored drinks, and enjoy longboarding. When I’m not studying, I love to read novels, crochet cute items, and take hot girl walks. If you ever see me around, feel free to chat or ask me any questions you might have! I hope that you guys will enjoy being a member of the Fresno State CNSA chapter. |
Events Director
Ngan Au Hello, everyone! My name is Ngan, but you can call me Jenny. I am a third-semester student, and I am looking forward to serving as your Events Director for the 2023-2024 year! I am originally from Vietnam and moved to Southern California in 2017. I obtained my Associate degree from Mt. San Antonio College and then moved to Fresno for the Nursing program. I have not decided where I want to work yet, but I am very interested in the ICU and ER right now! In my free time, I like hanging out with my family and friends, traveling, and photography. Most importantly, I am a very social person! I have really enjoyed getting to know my classmates here, and I am looking forward to meeting more of you this next year. Hope to see you all at our events this year! |
Fundraising Director
Regina Rivera Hi everyone! I am currently a second-semester student, and I am excited to be the CNSA Fundraising Director for this year! I started volunteering at Clovis Community when I was younger, and I fell in love with how the nursing profession after seeing the connections they would create with patients. I volunteer with an organization called Camp Kesem, which supports children whose parents have cancer. After hearing a lot of families' stories about cancer, I knew that nursing was something I wanted to pursue so that I could be there for families in such vulnerable times. Outside of nursing school, I absolutely love anything that has to do with the outdoors! I spend my free time rock climbing, doing yoga, hiking, long boarding, and camping. |
Membership Director
Muskaan Nijjar Hello everyone, my name is Muskaan! I will be completing my 3rd and 4th semester of nursing school this year. Whenever I am not studying for an upcoming exam, I am probably spending time with family or shopping. I am still undecided about what nursing unit I would like to work in, but my current interests are the NICU and the ER. This might change as I get to experience clinicals on different floors. I might start my career in the medical-surgical unit, but I still have over a year to figure it all out. I am so excited to be your Membership Director and looking forward to an amazing year! |
Publications and Apparel Director
Jasmine Kamimoto Hi Everyone! My name is Jasmine Kamimoto, a 3rd semester, and your Publications and Apparel Director! Ultimately, I wanted to pursue a career in nursing because it allows me to to help people when they were having their hardest days. To be there for patients and their families is always so rewarding! I am also currently externing at Valley Children's in the PICU and as of now I hope to work there after I graduate. When I am not studying, I love to play the guitar, crochet, paint, go hiking, and listen to music (I am a big Swiftie). Don't hesitate to reach out if you have new apparel ideas or any other questions about classes. |
Communications Director
Ciara Arriola Hi there! My name is Ciara and I am going to be entering my third and fourth semesters this school year. I am interested in pursuing a career in pediatric nursing following my own experience with the healthcare system as a child. The externship position I have has only reaffirmed that I am where I want to be. Other than school, you can find me reviewing new places on Yelp, reading the latest fiction novel, or creating hyperspecific playlists for every situation in life. I look forward to meeting more students in this program throughout my time on the BOD! |
Breakthrough to Nursing Director
Chizobam Allison Hi everyone! My name is Chizobam Allison and I’m the current BTN! I decided to pursue nursing for several reasons. One, I love learning about the human body and disease processes. Two, caring for and helping others is so fulfilling for me. And three, nursing/medicine is common in my family and the Nigerian community. Some things I enjoy doing outside of nursing are going on day trips, escape rooms, hikes, and going out at night with friends. I also enjoy binging shows or just meditating in nature by myself. |
Community Health Director
Nathan Liang Hi everyone! My name is Nathan Liang! Some facts about me is I enjoy hanging out with friends, playing video games, watching shows and movies, and really just anything that's sorta indoors. However, on occasion I do like to play tennis and occasionally frisbee. I enjoy music, both listening and playing (I dabble in piano and guitar). I decided to pursue nursing because I think its a great field that not only helps people but just has a huge variety in terms of what I could go into. Currently, I am interested in CRNA, but I am very open to learning any skills and facts about medicine! |
